Tissue culture is also called in
vitro propagation. There are three kinds of Tissue culture:
1-
Embryo culture (Shoot tips)
2-
Meristematic tissues (Buds)
3-
Highly differentiated somatic tissues (Leaf, stem, inflorescence and root
sections).
This
technique has many advantages:
1-
Large-scale multiplication.
2-
No seasonal effect because plants can be multiplied under controlled
(laboratory and greenhouse) conditions.
3-
Propagation of healthy selected female cultivars, which are disease-and
pest-free.
4-
Propagation of males having superior pollen.
5-
Economical, easy and fast exchange between countries.
6-
The best way for large-scale production.
