Pruning

The quantity and quality of the fruit are directly dependent on the leaves. After old leaves begin to die, turn brown and hang lifelessly alongside the trunk of the palm, dead leaves should be cut with a sickle-shaped hook, and removed when they no longer have value. The date palm is usually pruned at the end of the winter.
