In
December 2008, the presence of
Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Coleoptera: Curculionidae –
EPPO A2 List) was detected for the first time in Morocco.
Cocoons, larvae and adult weevils were observed on 2
Phoenix canariensis
growing in a hotel garden, located approximately 500 m away
from the port of Tangier.

weevil in some hotels in Tangier in the North of Morocco.
