This disease of Date Palm was reported in Saudi Arabia by
(Nixon 1954), to be unknown cause, but in that time people call it Al-Wijam.
This disease was found in Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. In middle of
80's scientists suggested
that Al-Wijam disease may be caused by mycoplasma-like organisms MOL
(presently known as Phytoplasmas).
